Information about how diabetes is understood and managed by participants in a diabetes education class at Harborview Medical Center, with additional details about diabetes in Cambodian Americans.

Information contributed by members of the Multicultural Diabetes Project Team along with Cambodian Americans who participated in focus groups, field tests and diabetes education classes offered by the Multicultural Diabetes Project.  For this article, five Cambodian American seniors, all diabetic patients at Harborview Medical Center, were interviewed during a focus group.

In August 2010, additions and edits were made to the epidemiology section.  Information about prevalence of diabetes in the U.S was added from a more recently published article on EthnoMed Cambodian Shop Around Program. As well, in response to a reader's input, clarifying edits were made in the section describing prevalence of diabetes in Cambodia.
