Cancer Patient Educational Materials for Asian American Populations

EthnoMed worked with Healthy Roads Media to develop multimedia education materials about colorectal cancer in Cambodian (Khmer), English and Vietnamese languages. These followed a process of translation and review by focus groups of each language. These following tutorials are available in 3 formats: printable PDF handouts, audio (mp3), and movie-style.

Hemoccult Test Instructions:
The following are Stool Sample Collection Instructions for a fecal occult blood test (FOBT) that is used at Harborview Medical Center. Each document also includes a note explaining that there are many different kinds of medical tests requiring different kinds of preparation, encouraging patients to talk to their doctors about the test preparation that is right for them.
