Monthly Parenting Workshops -Samawado Women’s Health- HYBRID
Hosted by the Omar Bin Al-Khattab Islamic Center ‘Blooming Hearts‘ and Samawado Women’s Health, Monthly Parenting Wellness Workshop. The Samawado Women’s Health & Wellness is a community-based organization in South King County dedicated to the health and well-being of racialized immigrant and refugee women. Founded by Ayan Mohamed Ali, an MPH graduate, it bridges the gap in care caused by health disparities and systemic racism in the healthcare system.
The organization focuses on:
- Community Advocacy: Providing culturally responsive outreach and advocacy.
- Resource Connection: Helping underserved women access preventive care and wellness education.
- Health Equity: Addressing structural inequalities that disproportionately impact refugee and immigrant women.
Topics of the workshop include but are not limited to:
- Managing parent anxiety
- Nurturing environments for infants and toddlers
- Cognitive development
Workshops are held on Saturdays, 3:30-5:30pm
