In this video, a multi-generational Vietnamese American family celebrates a great-grandson’s birthday and memories of loved ones. Adult children, concerned about their mother’s health, teach her about the importance of early screening for cervical cancer and encourage her to get a pap test. Their conversations address Vietnamese cultural perspectives on women’s health, confidentiality of medical care, signs and symptoms of the disease and benefits of early detection.

18 minutes and 20 seconds long. Provided in Vietnamese alone, and with English subtitles.
